Damon Albarn’s live performances generate ecstatic enthusiasm in the crowds. The frontman has received numerous awards including a Grammy and five BRIT Awards, selling in total over 30 million records all around the world. Damon Albarn’s eclectic musical style and observational lyrics have made him one of the UK’s most influential and consistently interesting musicians.

Together with Graham Coxon, Dave Rowntree and Alex James, Albarn formed Blur – a band that became world famous in the 90s with records including Parklife and The Great Escape and hits such as "Girls & Boys", "Country House" and "Song 2". In 2012, Blur wrote two new songs ‘Under the Westway’ and ‘The Puritan’ ahead of their massive sold out show in London's Hyde Park to mark the closing of the Olympic Games.

In 2000 Damon Albarn and Jamie Hewlett created the most successful virtual band ever, Gorillaz with cartoon members 2D, Russel, Murdoc and guitarist Noodle. The mix of rock, rap and pop was a remarkable success and affirmed Albarn’s position as an unpredictable musician who skilfully combines genres and styles.

He is also the author of film music (for instance to 101 Reykjavik and Broken) and of two operas: Monkey: Journey to the West(2007) and Dr Dee (2011).
