In a world inhabited by three categories of people, the fames, the cronopios and the hopes play a game called rayuela, a game as dreamy as their world. Rayuela involves throwing a coin or stone towards a line drawn on the ground. The winner is the person who throws their coin or stone the closest to the line. The Cuentacuentos, or the Storyteller, takes the audience into the magical world of Spanish taverns. He tells not only fables, fairytales and legends, but also real stories from other people’s lives: stories of being born and of dying. He is always surrounded by a crowd willing to listen to his tales.
