  • The main focus of Rooms by the sea is the act of perception: looking by using images and the constant discovering of the traces left by these images in the surrounding (not only image-based) reality. The artists extract their characters from their original context and concentrate on their solitary presence to create a show built of fragments: scraps of images and gestures. This also reveals their ties to both the individual and shared archive of associations, emotions and memories. The show attempts to connect the ways in which the visual arts and the performing arts are experienced: an extended exposure time in the case of the former and a voyeuristic observation of “tableaux” happening within a timeframe in the case of the latter.
